PolyCultural Weekend is designed to acquaint prospective students to the Cal Poly University by exploring academic, cultural, and social resources of the institution. PolyCultural Weekend aims to establish a sense of community, a sense of belonging, and provides students with the skills to succeed at Cal Poly, even though it is a different environment.
Congratulations on your acceptance to Cal Poly SLO! The next chapter of your academic career has just begun, and many things await you! The PolyCultural Weekend (PCW) community wants to give you a warm welcome! We aim to provide a safe space for you all. We are here to provide love and support, and we hope we can help you find your home away from home! Many of us who have participated in PCW have found mentors and friends through this program, and have created personal and lasting relationships. We are excited to share our own PCW experiences with you, and create new memories!
Transitioning into college can be difficult, but the PCW community is here to help you. We want you to take this opportunity to explore the different organizations on our campus. We want to support you as you find your place, and want you to feel a sense of belonging. We strive to give underrepresented students a home.
You deserve to be here. There are endless opportunities to make friends, develop your leadership skills, learn new things, and create your own projects.
We all can’t wait to meet you in the Fall if you choose to accept Cal Poly!
