The Pride Center hosts a variety of Signature Events throughout the academic year in addition to two months of observance, LGBTQ+ History month (October) and Pride Month (April). For more information on our visits, visit our events calendar.
October is LGBTQ+ History Month, a month-long celebration of our queer and trans cultural history. LGBTQ+ History Month is a once-a-year opportunity for sexual and gender minorities and their allies to learn more about important queer and trans leaders, historical events, and moments of pride often times left out of history curricula across the United States.
April is Pride Month, a month-long celebration of our LGBTQ+ community. Pride month is a once-a-year opportunity for LGBTQ+ individuals to enjoy visibility and support from a wide community, while celebrating our allies and promoting awareness about issues surrounding the diverse intersections of queer identity. In April, we come together to celebrate pride and advocate for queer and allied college communities (and beyond) with events that range from social, to supportive, to educational, to just plain incredible! Be on the lookout for our Pride Month calendar at the beginning of Spring Quarter!
This annual celebration recognizes the scholarship and community contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, pansexual and allied graduating seniors and graduate students. Regardless of your involvement with the Pride Center during your time at Cal Poly, students are invited to join us for our LGBTQ+ Graduation Celebration! For more information on how to register for this event, please visit Lavender Commencement (coming soon).
