Lead Coordinator of Campus LGBTQ+ Initiatives
Hello Cal Poly,
As the Lead Coordinator of Campus LGBTQ+ Initiatives, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our online digital resources for gender & sexuality!
I'd like to honor and recognize all the amazing work that queer and trans people have contributed to our campus and to the central coast community. They have been a catalyst for creating visible systems of support for underrepresented students. Since its founding, the Pride Center has served as a haven for LGBTQ+ community members and has been working tirelessly to help create a more inclusive Cal Poly community.
Since its inception, it is incredibly encouraging to see the strides we have made in access, equity, and inclusion. Whether it be in the affinity groups, signature events, or our numerous partnerships, we are shaping the Cal Poly community we want to be. We look forward to engaging with you this year!
The center encourages socially transformative conversations, leadership development, and involvement in our community. In 2018-2019, we underwent a year of assessment and collective visioning and we are in process of developing initiatives based on your feedback. We are striving to address the concerns, growing needs, and development of queer and trans students and the faculty and staff who work closely with these students. We encourage you to visit us in the University Union Bldg. 65, Rm. 209 or my office in Rm. 214. If you have any questions, or would like to arrange an in-person conversation, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
